Arsene has strengthened its expertise in VAT & indirect tax through the cooptation of a new partner
Arsene, the first independent French business law firm exclusively specialized in tax, announces the cooptation of Nathalie Habibou as a partner. Nathalie had been an associate within the firm since 2008.
This promotion allows the firm to continue to offer its clients a service with high added value in of the one of the fastest-growing areas of taxation in France and abroad.
Now with 22 partners, following the appointment of Denis Andres as Managing Partner, Arsene continues its development, based in particular on internal promotion and generational transmission.
Arsene, an independent business law firm specializing exclusively in tax law, announces the promotion of Nathalie Habibou as a partner in the activities of “VAT & indirect tax” and “Tax audit and Litigation”. Beyond her own activity, she will oversee the full scope of the VAT-focused activities of Arsene.
Nathalie Habibou joined Arsene as a lawyer in 2008 and now manages a team, made up of 5 employees, dedicated to these activities. She works with companies and groups in all sectors, French and international, on all their tax issues in terms of VAT & indirect tax, both in advice and in litigation. She sees her clients through to the fulfillment of their international projects in the area of indirect taxation, with the support of Taxand the first international network dedicated to taxation, of which Arsene is the founder.
Over the years, Nathalie Habibou has also developed strong expertise in computerized taxation (tax dematerialization of invoices, reliable audit trail, CFCI & fiscal archiving, Accounting entries file, compliance of checkout software).
Due to the digitalization of the economy and the rise of start-ups and e-commerce platforms, VAT remains an essential lever of development for the firm. In this context, Arsene invests in subjects relating to VAT and technologies. This development strategy allows Arsene to increase its expertise on cutting-edge subjects in tax law, in close collaboration with Arsene Innovation, launched in January 2019 to offer full 360 ° support around innovation.

Biography
Nathalie Habibou, 37 years old, a partner in the Arsene law firm, specializes in VAT & indirect taxes. Since 2008, she has worked with French and international customers operating in all sectors of activity (such as luxury, energy, real estate, pharmaceutical, mass distribution, tourism, IT services, e-commerce), in line with the wide-ranging activities of the firm. She has developed specific know-how in different areas:
- Indirect tax advice (VAT, payroll taxes, C3S, indirect contributions),
- Review and securing of the supply chain (goods and / or services),
- Implementation of specific VAT / Customs regimes,
- Decision trees / ERP settings (details on invoice),
- VAT / DEB / DES consistency review,
- Assistance in tax audits and litigation before the courts.
She also acquired experience with high added value in computerized taxation (tax dematerialization of invoices, PAF, CFCI & fiscal archiving, FEC, compliance of cash register software).
Nathalie Habibou graduated from the Paris-Sorbonne University in 2006 with a Master’s in Law and Taxation of Tourism and from the Paris IV-René Descartes University in 2008 with a Master’s in Tax Law and holds a Professional Lawyer’s Certificate. Nathalie started her career at Arsene as a trainee-lawyer in 2008 before progressively reaching the position of Manager in 2014. In 2017, she became Senior Manager and today manages the firm’s VAT team made up of 5 employees. She was appointed partner of the firm Arsene on January 1st, 2020.
Nathalie Habibou has also been a member of APTE (Association of Practitioners of European VAT) since 2019 and of IACF (Institute of Tax Advocates) since 2018.
